This was taken today at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk. Not sure what kind of fish this is to be honest. And for a Friday afternoon there were a LOT more kids there than I expected!

Thermometer

An ivy-covered (I think it's ivy) thermometer located in an office building. And yes, the building is still in use.

Old Glory

Taken during the pre-game ceremonies at an Arizona Cardinals game on November 6, 2005. This shot was taken during a tribute to veterans of the United States armed forces, including former Cardinals player and Army Ranger Pat Tillman.

Also from the arboretum. It smelled OK to me; although to be honest, I didn't exactly get close and take a big whiff.

The Lateness of the Hour

Sundial located in the garden area of the arboretum. I tried this in color and B&W, and decided that the color version was more appealing due to the warmness of the sunlight. Unfortunately that same sunlight caused a loss of detail on the right side of the sundial, but I recovered as much as I could in Photoshop.

Oh, and I appropriated the title from an old Twilight Zone episode.

Spring has sprung!

This past winter was pretty mild in New Jersey, but I'm still glad to see the first signs of spring. Around here, one of the first signs of the season is the abundance of daffodils. This lovely specimen was shot at the Hunterdon County Arboretum in Clinton Township.

Harder! Harder!!!

Tonight was Open House night for the Plainfield Curling Club, so the missus and I stopped by for our first on-ice experience. I'm here to tell you, it's harder than it looks. Although I am happy to report that my butt is bruise-free.

Had I arrived a few minutes earlier, the sunset probably would have been much more dramatic. Oh well, such is life. Still, I think it came out pretty well.

One of the nice things about travelling to Cape May in March is that you don't have to avoid any crowds on the beach. Or any place for that matter.

The idea behind this shot is simple - I set the camera on the sand and shot.

If the color on this appears a bit drab, it's because the leaves were lying (laying? Where's my grammar book when I need it!) underneath a thin layer of ice.

Our condo development has a bit of a problem with the geese population. Could have fooled me. As you can imagine, driving down the street these critters cross is quite an adventure. And we've been told that there used to be a lot more of them just a few years ago.
